Aranthangi Power Plant

A Biomass Based Renewal Energy Power Plant with an installed capacity of 10 MW. Established in April 2008, in Pudukottai District (TN), it is a state-of-the-art Renewable Energy Power Plant embracing some of the best designs, machinery and equipments. The Turbine Generator is imported from China while other equipments, such as Boiler, Aircooled Condensers, Electrostatic Precipitators, Water Treatment Plants, etc. are indigenous.

The Plant is run on Biomass like Juli-flora, Groundnut shell, Coconut stem, Sawmill Dust, Waste Wood etc. Being a Biomass based Plant, it follows, lower emission levels. Nonetheless, we have necessary monitoring mechanisms in place such as Electrostatic Precipitators, etc., to ensure reduced emissions. Besides, the Plant, set up on a vast tract of land measuring over 13 acres, is surrounded by lush greenery which is meticulously maintained in order to minimize the effect of pollution. In order to safeguard the scarce water resources, we have gone in for Aircooled Condensers, instead of Water cooled Condensers in the Plant, thus reducing water requirement and conserving the ground water.

The Unit consistently generates 10 MW, or 240,000 Units per day with an approved power export of 8.5 MW, or 204,000 Units per day. The entire power generated is linked to State Power Grid and supplied through its 110 KV Transmission line in order to minimize line loss and sold to 3rd Party High Tension Consumers under Intra State Open Access System.
